Hourly rates are set per department in Fee settings. The requester sees totals only, never rates or hours.

Sample data. Staff estimate the cost from staff hours and the requester pays a deposit before work starts. The final cost follows the hours actually spent, and the records are released after the balance is paid. Switch views to try it.

Public Records Fees: Deposit, Final Cost, Balance Before Release

Staff estimate a request's cost from staff hours, using an hourly rate per department plus flat charges. The requester pays a deposit (50% by default) before work starts, staff set the final cost from the hours actually spent, and the balance is paid before the records are released: online in Bloomz Payments with a Bloomz account, or at the counter. Staff can waive a fee, refund or credit a deposit that was more than the final cost, and the response clock pauses while the city waits on payment. Staff are also alerted to every new request.

Common questions

Are all of these available to every city?

Everything marked Shipped or Available is built and live in the product. Several modules are switched on per city, so ask which ones your city has enabled.

What is coming soon for NeighborLift?

A dedicated coordinator role, in-app messaging and an impact report are coming soon and are not available today.

Can we charge for public-records requests?

Records fees are coming soon and are not available today. Staff will estimate the cost from staff hours, take a deposit before work starts, set the final cost from the hours spent, and collect the balance before the records are released, online in Bloomz Payments with a Bloomz account or at the counter.

Is Utility Insights part of the base platform?

No. It is a separate add-on module for Bloomz for Cities, priced by the number of meters monitored. Ask for a quote sized to your meter count.

Where do I start if my city is new to Bloomz?

Most cities start with the household import and alerts, then add modules. See the Switch to Bloomz page for the launch plan.

See it on your city's own data.

A short call to walk through the modules your city cares about and what is switched on.
